Understanding Hip-Spine Syndrome’s Synchronization

A coexistence of two problems is often overlooked and misdiagnosed leading to improper treatment.

Its understood that osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip causes pain and loss of motion, leading to changes in the way people stand and walk, but did you know that back pain may result from OAs affect on the hip? Known as hip-spine syndrome, this term is common among orthopaedic surgeons, but its meaning is often lost on patients who suffer from the condition.
