Once thought of as a wastebasket diagnosis, fibromyalgia is now establishing its position among todays chronic pain disorders as a clearly defined condition. While the symptoms are non-specific, the combination of widespread pain, fatigue and sleep problems, and cognitive complications continuing for at least three months is consistent with the diagnosis.
