Platelet-rich plasma injections: a promising therapy for osteoarthritis

With PRP injections, a small quantity of blood is drawn from the patient and placed in a machine that separates out the platelets, creating whats called platelet-rich plasma. Platelets are a component of blood best known for helping blood to clot. They also contain particles called growth factors that aid in healing and repair of injuries.
