Seek Help to Avoid Elbow Pain

Even if you dont golf or play tennis, that throbbing pain in your elbow could be golfers elbow or tennis elbow. Both terms are misnomers of sorts, as most people who experience these injuries dont even play tennis or golf. But both conditions are fairly common and can occur due to a number of causes, including manual labor. You can think youre in pretty good shape, and then all of a sudden your elbow starts killing you because it couldnt stand the stress you put on it, says Susan Joy, MD, with Cleveland Clinic Sports Health. Its usually a phenomenon where something youre doing is a bit of an overload for that tendon. Fortunately, treatments and exercises can provide relief, and with some conditioning and prevention strategies, you can keep swinging like a pro-whether youre using a tennis racquet, golf club or a tool.
