Radiation is a common cancer treatment typically delivered in high doses to destroy cancerous cells. Low-dose radiation has been a treatment for osteoarthritis in Europe for a long time. A recent study published in 2025 prompted publicity and is drawing more attention to this treatment option. Osteoarthritis has other treatment options including physical therapy, lifestyle changes, medications, injections and surgery.
