S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe) is a naturally occurring compound in the body. A synthesized version is available as a supplement in the United States. SAMe is thought to stimulate cartilage growth and have anti-inflammatory, antidepressant and pain killing effects. It may help reduce functional limitations from osteoarthritis.
