Although arthritis or a disk problem may have been diagnosed as the source of your joint pain, the real culprit may be gravity. "The fact that we have to keep our body upright to walk, sit, and do all of our activities is something people dont often think about," says Gary Calabrese, PT, Director of Sports Health and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation at Cleveland Clinic. "Yet, your head has to be aligned with your spine, and your spine needs to be in a neutral position-not bending forward or back-during most activities. Otherwise, there can be problems."
