A diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis (AS)- a form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine- more than 25 years ago has never stopped Mark Marteeny. As a father of three, Marteenys days are full with driving an asphalt truck through the hills of Pennsylvania. But, in the summer of 2013 he knew the pain had won.
