When you think of people who have arthritis, a 35-year-old with a skin condition may not come to mind. Of the more than 100 types of arthritis, osteoarthritis is by far the most common, and it generally affects people in older age. Other types of arthritis are autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation in joints. One of these, psoriatic arthritis, affects up to one-third of people who have the skin condition psoriasis.
