The proof behind an exercise programs power for hip joint health is continually increasing-and research is now showing that it may help hip osteoarthritis (OA) patients avoid total hip replacement surgery as well. According to a study published in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases (Nov. 2013), researchers found that patients who had both an educational program and exercised had a 44 percent decrease in the need for hip replacement compared with those who attended the educational session and didnt exercise.
