I have pain on the side of my hip. It’s especially painful when I lie on my side in bed. It also hurts when I’m just walking. Is this osteoarthritis?

Hip pain can have several possible causes, and the location of the pain offers a clue about the underlying cause. Osteoarthritis in the hip tends to cause pain deep in the joint and in the groin. What you describe sounds like a different condition.
