Osteoporosis in Men

Men need to pay attention to bone health throughout life.


You may think of osteoporosis as a condition of postmenopausal women, but men get osteoporosis, too. And here are some sobering statistics: One in four men ages 50 and older break a bone due to osteoporosis; men have more complications and a higher mortality after a fracture than women; and less than 20% of men receive adequate treatment for osteoporosis after a fracture.
