Pain in the hip that originates inside the joint may be caused by osteoarthritis, but there are other possibilities.

Osteoarthritis is the second most common cause of hip pain, after bursitis. But hip pain can also stem from other conditions. For the April 2017 issue of Arthritis Advisor, we talked to Cleveland Clinic orthopaedic surgeon Ronald Zipper, DO, about conditions outside the actual joint, such as bursitis.
