Rheumatoid arthritis can affect the lungs.


If you have rheumatoid arthritis (RA), shortness of breath and a chronic cough may be signs that the disease has affected your lungs. RA is an autoimmune disease, in which the body’s immune system attacks healthy tissue, primarily the tissue lining the joints. But it can affect other parts of the body as well.
