If you feel persistent pain in the back of your ankle, chances are it’s Achilles tendinitis. Your Achilles tendon connects your heel bone to your calf muscle, enabling you to raise your heel off the ground and get moving. It’s the strongest (and longest) tendon in your body, but it’s not invulnerable.
